• Subiect: Activity Report of the Museum for History and Art of Zalău in 1983 The paper deals with the activity of the Museum of History and Art of Zalău during the year 1983. It consists of the following aspects: - archaeological researches at the sites of Crasna (bronze age), Panic (frec Dacians), Zalău - Valea Miţii (late neolithic and 3-rd century A.D.), Porolissum (roman town and fort). - conservation and restoration work at the site of Porolissum. - the staff of the Museum contributed 35 papers at the symposia held in various cities of this country and, especially, at the symposium „History and civilization in the north-western Romania" held in Zalău. The papers will be published in the Acta Musei Porolissensis. - the museum was visited by 31.942 people, especially pupils, workers. - In July 5-th the new wing of the fine arts department was opened. - by the end of 1983 the history and archeology department of the museum has got 80.005 items, the fine arts department 713 and the ethnography and folk art department 3.863 items. - the staff of the museum took part in various educative and cultural activities, such as exhibitions, museum evenings, lectures. The museum played an important part in the patriotic and cultural education of the working people of the district.
